Who the heck am I to talk about creativity?
I'm a child survivor of musically creative, mental health challenged parents and a veteran of the creative industries, turned therapist and coach.
I know a thing or two about creativity and more than a few things about the challenges of the creative industries.
And I know a whole lot about how to survive it all, keep your creativity and sanity in tact and maybe even rediscvover your love for what you do.

I'm a creative, a writer and now a therapist and coach with a lifelong connection to creativity.
THIS IS MY STORY
I was raised in a little post industrial mill town in the north of England by a jazz musician father with mental health challenges, and a schizophrenic opera-singing, champion Latin American dancing mother. I was rarely with both at the same time. I learned early on about the power of the mind, about the stories we live by and about the impact and influence of music, words and language.
Growing up in a house filled with rhythm and melody, creativity wasn’t a choice, it was a way of life and means of survival. As a child navigating my parents' complex worlds, I learned how creativity can both elevate and challenge the human mind and spirit. Music, for me, wasn’t just something I heard, it was an emotional experience, a tool for healing, and sometimes, a source of torment.
These early lessons sparked a lifelong fascination with the mind and the way it processes creativity. I became obsessed with understanding how creativity—especially music—affects us, emotionally and mentally. But instead of becoming a musician, I found my calling in words, storytelling, and eventually, therapy.
I've spent decades studying the intersection of creativity, the mind, and human experience. One thing has always fascinated me: the stories we tell. Whether it's the stories we're handed by others or the narratives we create ourselves, these stories shape our lives. And just like a song can be rearranged and rewritten to invoke very different responses, so too can our personal stories.
Change the story.
For musicians and creatives, life can feel like a tightrope walk between inspiration and chaos. I get it. Through my work as a therapist and coach, I help people like you navigate that balance, transforming the stories that hold you back into ones that empower you and fuel your creativity as well as making you feel bloomin' good about your life and work.
By combining my therapeutic training with my understanding of creative expression and my very personal experience, I’ve made it my mission to help people like you to take control of your stories. Whether it’s overcoming mental blocks, dealing with the pressures of the industry or sector you work in, or simply finding joy again, I’m here to guide you through the process of rewriting your narrative.
You may not be able to change how your story started, but you can edit and rewrite it any time, add plot twists and new characters and you can create new and exciting stories.
Is it time to change the story?
